Bus 27: Larklands-Ilkeston-Kimberley
We’re Sorry - TESCO extension now ended

We naturally tested the new timetable before we extended the 27 to Ilkeston TESCO.

But in everyday conditions, we were running very late on some journeys.
So although the new extension was being used, it was causing buses to run late, which was building up across the day.

As of MONDAY 27 NOVEMBER 2006 we have re-instated the original 27 timetable, without the extension to Tesco.

Thank you for bearing with us.  We know that despite our best intentions the new timetable was not working properly - and we’re sorry.

Extra Buses for MacArthur Glen…
…which is now re-named the East Midlands Designer Outlet Centre

On the 9.2 route the 10pm from Mansfield and the 9.35pm from Derby now call at the Designer Outlet Centre on Monday to Saturday evenings. We hope that this will help people working at the centre.

transpeak in Derby
The Inner Ring Road slip road has now re-opened so northbound transpeak has returned to its designated stop on Derwent Street – Y1.

15 gets a new look
Even though the buses on our route 15 are barely 4 years old, we have given them a complete makeover - inside and out.

The new-look buses have now taken to the streets , complete with new seating, new interior colour scheme and a brand new livery.

We are also running an extra at 8am from Sawley to Ilkeston.
The rest of the timetable continues unchanged.

STARTRAK BACK UP AND RUNNING -  rainbows 4 and 5
We are glad to report that the *StarTrak digital bus stop displays and texting service are now back in operation after being closed at the Local Authority control centre to rectify a major fault.

*StarTrak uses SatNav technology to count down the number of minutes before your bus will actually arrive. The same service is available by *Startext, because all the stops have a their own ID code which you can text in to find out how the buses are running – no matter where you happen to be at the time.

We are keeping a close eye on the system to make sure it settles properly.  Please let us know if you come across any problems.

MAJOR ROADWORKS -Affecting the Skyline 199 route
Heavy-duty roadworks on the M60 motorway in Stockport started on October 13th and will last for around 6 months.  The roadworks involve lane closures and speed restrictions.

This is part of the route used by our Skyline 199 buses from Stockport to the Airport.  We can also expect heavier traffic in the Stockport area caused by motorists trying to find alternative routes.

Usually even major schemes like this settle down after a short while, but with restricted road space it does not take much to cause jams, delays and frustration for all road users.

We will do everything in our power to regulate our service, but this major scheme is bound to have an effect on everyone trying to travel in the area – so we strongly advise you to allow extra time if your journey is critical.
Thank you for bearing with us at this difficult time.

RAIL TICKETS  - Matlock to Derby
We regret that bus and rail tickets are no longer interchangeable between Matlock and Derby.

BLACK CAT - Mansfield - Ilkeston – Derby
These small changes came in on Monday 27 November 2006 to allow for traffic delays.

  • The 7.02am (Mon-Fri) from Ilkeston to Mansfield will run 10 minutes EARLIER throughout.
  • The 8.20am (Mon-Fri) from Mansfield to Derby will depart 10 minutes EARLIER to allow extra time in traffic between Mansfield and Underwood.  After Underwood this bus will be back on its normal timings.

Harlequin - Derby to Heatherton
We changed the afternoon timetable on Monday November 27th to allow for heavier traffic in the ring road area.

  • The 3.40pm; 4.50pm and 6pm from Derby now runs 5 minutes LATER.
  • The 5.25pm now leaves 10 minutes LATER.

the sixes - Timetable changes from Sunday 26 November 2006

  • The Sunday 6.3 daytime timetable from Ripley to Derby is now approx. 15 minutes EARLIER.
  • The first 6.1 to Derby (Mon-Sat) is now from Belper (at the usual time of 6am) instead of from Matlock
  • The 6.20pm 6.1 from Derby (Mon-Sat)finishes in Belper instead of Matlock
  • The 7.55am 6.1 from Millers Green to Matlock and County Offices (Mon-Sat) will no longer run through Middleton.
  • The first bus on Sunday morning starts from Belper instead of from John O'Gaunt's Way.
  • Sunday buses from 7.05pm onwards will not change.
  • Sunday buses from Derby will continue unchanged.

The rest of the sixes timetable is unaffected.
