ROAD CLOSURE AT STAPLEFORD, ILKESTON ROAD Bus 18 Nottingham –Beeston - Stapleford (Melbourne Road) Ilkeston Road will be closed for around 3 weeks between Trowell Road and Rowan Avenue. During this time we will be unable to get to our stop in the layby on Melbourne Road. A temporary bus stop will be placed on Rowan Avenue close to the Melbourne Road Junction. Our drivers will be looking out for you! The timetables will not be affected and no other routes are involved. TWICE AS MANY X38s - and NEW SUNDAY TIMETABLE Demolition Derby – delays expected on V1, V2, X38, The Mickleover This won’t cause us to miss out any stops, but during that time we will have to take our place in the ordinary traffic on Stafford Street, which will make us slower at busy times. The outbound route should not be affected. Sadly there is no other way around the problem. Thank you for bearing with us. BUS 241 Clay Cross – Mansfield We are sorry to report that our contract from Derbyshire County Council to run the extra evening buses on the 241 route will come to an end after operation on SATURDAY 24 March 2007. This means that from Monday 26 March, the last 241 from Mansfield to Clay Cross will be at 6pm, and the last 241 from Clay Cross will be at 7pm. rainbow 4 – SUNDAYS People had been telling us that they wondered whether extra Sunday buses would increase trade; so we gave it a try! We are glad that we did, but on this occasion it hasn’t worked out, so we will be going back to the long-standing original half hourly Sandiacre-Nottingham Sunday and Bank Holiday timetable from March 25th 2007. The Derby-Sandiacre Sunday frequency will not change.
Due to emergency repairs, Ashbourne Road at Blackbrook Crossroads is closed to all traffic from January 15th 2007 for two months or possibly longer. During the closure we will not be able to run the 6.1 Bakewell – Derby buses through Blackbrook. As a temporary measure all 6.1 buses will run to the following diversion in both directions: Farnah Green Road, Goodwin’s Lane, Over Lane before rejoining Ashbourne Road (A517) and the normal route at Shottlegate. Bus times and fares will not change. In addition throughout the road closure we will be unable to run our normal ‘mustard’ coloured buses on 6.1 so please look out for one of our ‘red’ trent barton low floor buses instead. There are no other changes to the sixes route or times this includes the 6.1 minibus from Matlock to the Wirksworth Estates. We are grateful for the co-operation of Derbyshire County Council in helping us keep disruption to a minimum. We look forward to returning to our normal timetable when the road reopens. Sundays, the Airport and rainbow 5 From the same date, we have extended the 10 minute Sunday buses on rainbow 5 (Nottingham – Chilwell section) through to 6.10pm. MAJOR ROADWORKS - Affecting the Skyline 199 route This is part of the route used by our Skyline 199 buses from Stockport to the Airport. We can also expect heavier traffic in the Stockport area caused by motorists trying to find alternative routes. We will do everything in our power to regulate our service, but this major scheme is bound to have an effect on everyone trying to travel in the area – so we strongly advise you to allow extra time if your journey is critical. New City fare from February 4th We’ve held our Nottingham City Zone fare at £1.30 for a year.It will go up by 10p from February 4th 2007. But don’t pay it! Now is the time to switch to Kangaroo - because for £2.70 you not only save on the price of two singles – you can also travel as much as you want all day on all buses (trent barton and City Transport) and trams in the City Zone – which goes out a good long way. So don’t buy a £1.40 single on your first journey – ask for a Kangaroo! NB: FRIO tickets sold at the pre-increase price will remain valid until all 13 trips have been taken. NEW CASH SAVER FARES: See our Fares and Tickets section for further details |
