Trent Barton Routes & Times Update

TWICE AS MANY X38s and NEW SUNDAY TIMETABLE
Now there’s a brand new half-hourly SUNDAY timetable between Burton and Derby on the direct X38 route – AND twice as many weekday buses: that’s every 15 minutes instead of half-hourly.

BUT SORRY ABOUT THE NEW BUSES
Our manufacturer, Optare of Leeds, has been unable to deliver the new X38 buses to the promised date. We are very disappointed, and although the matter is entirely out of our hands, we are sorry that these exciting new buses will not be on the X38 right from the start.
This won’t affect anything else; we will still introduce the new Sunday service and extended weekday timetable. Both of the new buses are now in service

Bus 22
Nottingham – Tollerton – Cotgrave – Cropwell Bishop – Vale of Belvoir

Changes from Tuesday 29 May 2007

This route has long been supported by Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire County Councils.

However, Leicestershire have now withdrawn their financial support.

This means that the 22 will no longer be running to Stathern, Redmile, Plungar and Harby; its furthest point in the Vale will be Granby, via Langar.

The new timetable starts on Tuesday May 29th – after the Bank Holiday, and it can be viewed on our website. You will note that we will be reinstating the 22 to run through to Friar Lane in Nottingham at all but the very busiest times of day.

Keyworth Connection

Changes from Monday 6 May 2007 – and looking ahead…

If you’ve been in touch with concerns over our morning rush-hour timetable – thanks; and we are sorry.  The concerns are justified – we can no longer cope in the traffic – particularly at Wheatcroft’s Island, which is getting worse.  Without bus priorities our options are limited.  To provide the extra time and stay ahead of the jams we will be making all of our early morning departures up to ten minutes earlier on Mondays to Fridays.

Click here to view the new timetable.

Looking ahead – Melton Road will be closed coming out of the City for a fortnight from May 12th – a diversion will be in place.

Then in August we’ll be updating the Keyworth Connection buses – more seats, much more modern inside – and a very different look for the outside too!

RUDDINGTON CONNECTION

Route Closure from April 30th

Clifton service Suspended – SHUTTLE BUS TO BE PROVIDED (see ‘Stop Press’)

We were horrified to learn that Clifton Lane will be closed for up to 3 months from Monday April 30th in connection with a new housing development.

This will close the route from Clifton to Ruddington, inconveniencing all road users and completely severing the Ruddington Connection. We will not be able to get to Clifton AT ALL during the road closure – we have no option but to terminate at Ruddington on all journeys.

We are sorry to be the bearers of such news and we can assure customers that we have protested – but without any success. We believe there is a strong case to be made for keeping bus routes open in such circumstances, just as would be the case for trains and trams.

We will return to Clifton as soon as we can. The rest of the Ruddington Connection timetable will stay the same.

STOP PRESS
We now understand that after talks between the County Council and the Developer, a shuttle bus will be provided to connect the two villages.  This will be operated by Notts and Derby and will link with ruddington connection at Ruddington Green.  Unfortunately this will involve a considerable detour and as the service is not operated by trent barton the buses used will not meet our low floor guarantee.

Major Roadworks
Bardills Roundabout, A52, Toton

Red Arrow, transpeak, rainbow 4, bus 15

Lane closures on this very busy trunk road start on April 11th and are expected to go on until August, while traffic signals are installed at this location.

The Highways Agency has put out broadcast warnings to all road users, forecasting very serious delays.

This is bound to affect red arrow and transpeak, who use the roundabout in both directions – drivers may try alternative routes to keep going as best they can.

But we also fear that it will gum up Stapleford and Sandiacre (maybe Long Eaton too) as motorists struggle to find alternative routes.  This woill slow down the bus routes that we run in these areas too.

Sadly there is no way that we can overcome the delays.  The situation is not of our making, but we hope you will accept our apologies for any delay – and our thanks for bearing with us at this difficult time.

ROADWORKS ON THE A61 - AFFECTING PRONTO

Planned roadworks are now taking place at Donkin Island on the A61 at Chesterfield.

These works are expected to last 26 weeks and will inevitably cause delays to the pronto buses at peak times of the day.

We will do all we can to keep the buses running on time and we can only apologise for any inconvenience. The situation is clearly beyond our control.

SUNDAYS, THE AIRPORT & RAINBOW 5
Thanks to the support of East Midlands Airport, the Sunday rainbow 5 timetable now features through buses to the Airport (via Beeston, Long Eaton, Sawley, Castle Donington) – every hour all day (approx 6am to 11pm). The same timetable will run on Bank Holiday Mondays.

From the same date, we have extended the 10 minute Sunday buses on rainbow 5 (Nottingham – Chilwell section) through to 6.10pm.

NEW CITY FARE
and why we don’t want you to pay it…

We held our Nottingham City Zone fare at £1.30 for a year. It is now £1.40.

But don’t pay it!

Now is the time to switch to Kangaroo - because for £2.70 you not only save on the price of two singles – you can also travel as much as you want all day on all buses (trent barton and City Transport) and trams in the City Zone – which goes out a good long way.

So don’t buy a £1.40 single on your first journey – ask for a Kangaroo!

NEW CASH SAVER FARES:
From 28 January 2007
Yellow Zone - £34
Blue Zone - £55
Red Zone - £61

See our Fares and Tickets section for further details
NB There is now no admin fee for Cash Saver ticket renewals
