The Allestree We have been experiencing GPS problems on the Allestree routes while the resident buses are away for refit. Rather than put out unreliable information we have closed the system down until the buses make a bright new return after the August Bank Holiday. Thanks for your patience; we are sorry for any inconvenience. The Allestree We are drafting in some slimline buses (destined for a route with very narrow roads) to fill in on the Allestree route for a few weeks while we give the normal Allestree buses a really good refit and makeover in our workshops. True – the Allestree buses are still young, but we like to move with the times, and after all, Derby is getting a new look all of its own, so we want to look our best too. They’ll be back in full splendour before the end of August, and just as wide as they ever were! So we’re sorry if things are a bit of a squeeze just now – but we really hope you’ll like the new look. keyworth connection During this time keyworth connection will divert via Musters Road and Devonshire Avenue. the nines, 90 Road Closure From 29th July to 26th August the nines & 90 routes will be closed at Butterley Hill to allow works to be carried out relating to a new housing development. Between Ripley and Swanwick buses on the nines and 90 will divert via Hammersmith and Pentrich rejoining the normal route at the traffic lights in Swanwick. Between Swanwick and Ripley this diversion will be reversed. Towards Ripley the stop at Swanick church has temporarily moved to the Pentrich side of the traffic lights. Unfortunately there is no service on the normal route between Swanwick and Ripley. We are sorry that we have to make these temporary changes but this is beyond our control. Thank you for bearing with us. 141 141 now makes a small diversion in Hucknall to stop right outside the Tesco Superstore. The timetable has not changed. the nines We've made some small changes to allow for heavier traffic: The 8am from Ripley to Mansfield and the 8.15am from Mansfield to Ripley will start out 5 MINUTES EARLIER. The 6.45am Mansfield to Ripley and the 7am & 7.30am Ripley to Mansfield have some small adjustments to intermediate timings. 21 From Monday July 30th the 7.50am from Nottingham to Ilkeston will start out 5 MINUTES EARLIER to allow for extra traffic. transpeak From September 2nd we will be making some small adjustments to transpeak to improve timekeeping. There will be some slight changes to the times transpeak calls at Rowsley, Taddington, Buxton and Belper. The new timetable will be on the website shortly. We will also be making some changes to transpeak’s stops. There will be an extra stop in Broadholme. Staden Lane Industrial Estate in Buxton will no longer served. Instead there will be an extra stop at Central Drive. Transpeak will only stop at the following places in High Lane; Red Lion, Lyme Arms & Bulls Head northbound and Horseshoe, Church & Andrew Lane southbound. 21 From September 3rd Notts & Derby will withdraw their 5.05pm departure from Nottingham. 22 From September 3rd the 3.12pm journey from Granby to Nottingham will cease to operate on Schooldays. This journey will continue to operate on Saturdays and during school holidays. 6.1 in Middleton Starting on Monday September 3rd we will be making a small change to the 6.1 route through Middleton. We’ll be using the more direct route straight along Middleton Road instead of going the longer way by Cromford Road, Steeple Grange and Porter Lane. There will be a stop close to the junction at the Lime Kiln, but the Steeple Grange stop itself will still be served every hour by the 6.1 minibus on the Wirksworth-Matlock route. 6.1 and transpeak A new road will be opening soon between the railway station and Bakewell Road in Matlock. At the same time the road bridge over the Derwent to Crown Island will close. A new terminus will be built for buses close to the railway station. The 6.1 and transpeak buses will use the new stopping place in both directions INSTEAD OF the old bus station/Somerfield stop on Bakewell Road. The new stop will be called ‘Matlock Railway Station’. This is expected to start in early September, but the exact date depends upon the construction work. We will have to make the change as soon as the bridge closes. transpeak - Major Roadworks Belmont Railway Bridge near Stockport Town Centre is being rebuilt. The work is in several different stages and will cause disruption to traffic on this VERY busy road. Between July 2nd and August 27th the road will be closed COMPLETELY between Sparthfield Road and Stitch Lane. After then it will be open for one-way working. The transpeak will follow the signposted diversions. We will not be missing out any bus stops but this is bound to cause delays, especially at rush hour. Thank you for bearing with us at this difficult time. connect 5 extended We have made changes requested by customers who currently use and value connect 5. Every half hour between 9am and 2.30pm, Connect 5 turns off Sandown Road to take in Farndon Drive, Banbury Avenue, Joyce Avenue, Spinney Rise, Whitburn Road then back on to the old route onto Seaburn Road etc. The driver will stop in any safe place – just signal clearly. Connect at Toton Retail park with the very frequent rainbow 5 for Long Eaton or Beeston/Nottingham. Traffic jams at 5 in the morning! From Monday July 2nd we have retimed the 5.30am Buxton – Stockport – Airport, and the 6.10am Dove Holes – Stockport – Airport to run TEN MINUTES EARLIER. This applies across the week, Monday to Saturday, and has been brought about by worsening traffic. Major Roadworks red arrow, transpeak, rainbow 4, bus 15 Lane closures on this very busy trunk road start on April 11th and are expected to go on until August, while traffic signals are installed at this location. The Highways Agency has put out broadcast warnings to all road users, forecasting very serious delays. This is bound to affect red arrow and transpeak, who use the roundabout in both directions – drivers may try alternative routes to keep going as best they can. But we also fear that it will gum up Stapleford and Sandiacre (maybe Long Eaton too) as motorists struggle to find alternative routes. This will slow down the bus routes that we run in these areas too. Sadly there is no way that we can overcome the delays. The situation is not of our making, but we hope you will accept our apologies for any delay – and our thanks for bearing with us at this difficult time. pronto Planned roadworks are now taking place at Donkin Island on the A61 at Chesterfield. These works are expected to last 26 weeks and will inevitably cause delays to the pronto buses at peak times of the day. We will do all we can to keep the buses running on time and we can only apologise for any inconvenience. The situation is clearly beyond our control. |
