Trent Barton Routes & Times Update

rainbow 3 and black cat
Buses to serve business parks

From 1st September we will be making some changes to rainbow 3 and black cat to better serve Sherwood Business Park and Oakham Business Park.  These changes are

black cat
All buses will run via Sherwood Business Park; currently only buses at peak do this. There will be some adjustments to timings to take into account traffic conditions on the route.

3
Will now serve Southwell Lane in Kirkby and Oakham Business Park between Kirkby and Mansfield.  Certain peak journeys will also serve Sherwood Business Park

3a
There will be no change to either the route or times of 3a

3b
There will be no change to either the route or times of 3b

3c
Will no longer serve Sutton but instead will run to Mansfield, serving Oakham Business Park on its way. 3c will run via Garth Road from Oakham Business Park to Mansfield Town Centre. Southbound 3c’s will run on the opposite half hour to now. When combined with 90 this will give a more even frequency between the Coxmoor Estate and Kirkby. Customers at Sotheby Avenue will now have a half hourly service to Mansfield provided by 3 and 3c and can catch black cat and 90 to Sutton from the main road.

New timetables are available here - black cat, rainbow 3.

H1

Consultation over plans to get H1 back on time is now closed.  Most respondents agreed that the plans give the greatest benefit with the least disruption.

Consequently from 31st August H1 will run into Heanor from Derby via Thorpes Road, Stainsby Avenue and Wilmot Street – this misses out the Tesco stop into Heanor. Anybody wanting to get off at Tesco can stay on the bus. The Tesco stop towards Derby can be used as normal.

Also after 10am H1 will run non-stop from Leabrooks to Alfreton Bus Station; however there will be no change in route from Alfreton to Heanor so customers wanting to get off at Somercotes or Viyella can stay on the bus at no extra cost. Buses will leave Alfreton Bus Station 5 minutes earlier than now. There will be no change to H1 buses before 10am on this section.

The new timetable is available here.

We are glad you understand that with no prospect of any bus priority measures we are forced to make changes to the route.

harlequin night buses

Unfortunately late night buses on harlequin on Friday and Saturday nights have not been as successful as we had hoped.  Whilst the service is popular it does not have enough passengers to sustain a half hourly operation. Therefore from Friday 5th September harlequin will run hourly at 12:30am, 1:30am and 2:30am from the Wardwick.

Temporary Stops in Burton

From July 14th High Street in Buton will be closed for approximately 8 weeks to allow the fitting of lifting Bollards.

During this time we will not be able to serve our usual stops on Union Street and High Street. Instead we will be diverted and will stop on Station Street and Worthington Street.

The map below shows where to catch your bus.

ruddington connection

The popular ruddington connection has doubled in frequency and made a new direct link to the Ruddington Fields Business Park. ruddington connection has also been extended round the city centre calling at Broadmarsh, Upper Parliament Street and Old Market Square.

We have worked with our partners at Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council to provide a frequent direct link from Ruddington Fields Business Park to West Bridgford and Nottingham. And the bonus is that customers along the route see extra buses up from a bus every half hour to one every 15 minutes between Ruddington and Nottingham. The Ruddington to Clifton part of the service has increased from hourly to half hourly too.

The first bus from Barleylands to Nottingham is now at 9.18am.  Buses back from Nottingham run at 15 minutes past the hour from Broadmarsh and drop off on request to the driver.

The new ruddington connection timetable can be found here

rainbow 5
Roadworks in Loughborough

The centre of Loughborough will see roadworks through the summer while gas mains are replaced. There may be some delays on the Loughborough section of rainbow 5 due to this work. Later on in the summer buses may have to divert in the town. Full details will be posted here when they are available.

9.4
Healdswood and Fackley Way

We have for some time had difficulty turning from Fackley Way to Fackley Road. 9.4 buses will now travel the opposite way along Fackley Way to eliminate this turn.  Customers at Fackley Way should wait on the opposite side of the road than at the moment.
Also 9.4 will now serve Healdswood before Fackley Way. Times at Healdswood are now 2 minutes earlier than before. Times at Fackley way will be 7 minutes later

9.3 & 90
Road Closure Kirkby Lane/Pinxton Lane

The road between Kirkby and Pinxton will be closed from 10th April until 21st August.

During these works 90 will use Park Lane to travel direct between Kirkby and Selston; we will be unable to serve Commonside, Station Road or Beafort Lane. 9.3 will also use Park Lane but will have to divert via Commonside, Station Road or Beafort Lane to make this diversion.

This means any customers for service 90 on Commonside, Station Road or Beafort Lane should catch 9.3 and change to 90 at Portland Road.

Findern Lane Closed

Findern Lane is now closed for up to 6 months; for the development of a new marina. This will mean that villager V3 buses will not be able to serve Findern. A shuttle bus is being provided by Derbyshire County Council to link Findern to the main villager V3 route at Heatherton.
