Road Closure 13th October

Due to sewer works Western Road will be closed between Chevin Avenue and Brisbane Road. This closure begins on 13th October and is expected to last 2 weeks. During this time the mickleover will be unable to serve the section of Western Road between Uttoxeter Road and Brisbane Road. Buses will instead divert along Uttoxeter Road and Cavendish Way.

Alternative stops on Queen’s Drive will be provided for buses towards Nottingham, Kirk Hallam, Long Eaton and Derby.  Customers for buses towards Ilkeston Hospital, Heanor, Cotmanhay and Mansfield can catch the bus on Wharncliffe Road opposite the old Wharncliffe Motors Garage.

transpeak
road closure

From Monday 22nd September to Friday 10th October resurfacing work will be carried out on the A5207 in Chelmorton. During this time transpeak will not be able to serve Chelmorton. Instead buses will run along the A6 between Taddington and Buxton.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during these works.

F1 – the fast one

The growing popularity of Derby has created such demand that from 27th October we are putting on another direct bus between Alfreton, Ripley and the city.

The new service will be known as F1 - the fast one and will mirror the red arrow stops between Alfreton and Derby.  The service will fit in with red arrow to give a half hourly frequency to Derby throughout the day.

Timetables for F1 will be available shortly.

transpeak
Funding Ends

The Kickstart funding which improved transpeak has now come to an end, and the good news is that most journeys will continue. However from 26th October some journeys will be withdrawn or will run during summer only.

We will also be making some changes to improve reliability on the service.

These are:

• transpeak will no longer serve Derby Train Station.
• Most departures will leave Derby 5 minutes earlier than they do now going north.
• Intermediate times between Derby and Buxton will be adjusted slightly.
• Most departures south will leave Buxton 10 minutes later than currently.

Northbound

6.58am departure from Buxton to Manchester will be withdrawn

6.55am departure from Derby to Buxton will be withdrawn

8am departure from Nottingham to Buxton will be withdrawn. In its place an 8.50 Derby to Buxton journey will run except on Saturdays during May, June, July and August and on Mondays to Fridays During May and June.

11.10am Nottingham to Manchester service will now finish at Buxton at 1.29pm

12.10pm departure from Nottingham will now go through to Manchester arriving at 3.45pm.

1.10pm departure from Nottingham will finish at Buxton at 3.29pm.

6.10pm departure from Nottingham to Matlock will be withdrawn.

Southbound

6.30am Matlock to Nottingham service will be withdrawn.

9.15am service from Manchester to Nottingham will only run at weekends. Except during July and August when it will run daily. During the rest of the year the weekday service will begin at Buxton at 10.37am.

The 3pm departure from Manchester to Nottingham will be replaced by a Buxton to Nottingham service departing Buxton 4.37pm.

The 5.30pm service from Buxton to Nottingham will start at Manchester at 4.15pm.

The 5.15pm service from Manchester to Derby will be withdrawn.

calverton connection

To improve reliability, from 26th October we will make some slight adjustments to running times on calverton connection.  Many buses will run as much as 5 minutes later than now. New timetables will be available here.

90

We have to make changes to 90 to improve reliability along the route.

Unfortunately this means that from 27th October 90 will no longer serve New Selston and Elms Estate in Ripley, the least used parts of the route.

It is expected that Doyle’s service 146 will be diverted to provide a link between Elms Estate and Ripley.

Westfield

In autumn last year we introduced extra evening and Sunday buses on many routes in to Derby in conjunction with Westfield. The funding we receive for these buses has now come to an end and the good news is that many journeys have made the grade and will continue to run. However from 26th October some will no longer operate. These journeys on the following routes will be withdrawn.

H1
The Sunday service on H1 will revert back to being hourly.
On Thursdays and Fridays the 7.30pm and 8.30pm journeys from Heanor to Derby and the 8.05pm and 9.05pm from Derby to Heanor will no longer run.

the sixes
The 7.30pm and 8.30pm journeys from Belper to Derby and the 8.05pm and 9.05pm from Derby to Belper will not run on Thursday evenings, these services will continue to operate on Fridays and Saturdays.

Ilkeston Flyer
The 8.15pm and 9.15pm journeys from Derby to Ilkeston and the 8.45pm and 9.45pm journeys from Ilkeston to Derby will not run on Thursday evenings, these services will continue to operate on Fridays and Saturdays.

X38
The 7pm and 8pm journeys from Derby to Burton and the 7.30pm and 8.30pm journeys from Burton to Derby will no longer run except on Fridays and Saturdays. Also the 9pm and 10pm journeys from Derby to Burton and the 9.30pm and 10.30pm journeys from Burton to Derby will no longer run on Thursdays, they will continue to operate Fridays and Saturdays.
