PRESS RELEASE (18 March 2005)

Night Buses Come to Ripley

RIPLEY is to get its first ever night buses, so that the town’s clubbers can enjoy even more of Derby’s nightlife.

Private cars and taxis are the only ways to travel out of Derby by road to Ripley after 11pm at the moment.

But that will all change on April 1st when the number 92 service will run hourly until 3am from Derby bus station through Kilburn, Denby and Marehay to Ripley every weekend on Friday/Saturday and Saturday/Sunday.

It’s the latest extension to the night bus services run from Derby by trentbarton. Current services go to Heanor, Spondon, Mickleover, Nottingham and Burton-on-Trent.

Sarah Taylor, at trentbarton, said: “All our night buses have become overnight success stories, and we’re positive that they will prove just as popular in Ripley.”
