| Trio of Awards for Bus Company Staff |
| |
THREE staff at trentbarton from Beeston, Ripley and Belper have been given awards by the company for coming to the aid of people in distress while in the course of their work.
* When a pregnant lady thought she was beginning to have contractions, rainbow 4 bus driver Steve Toombes from Beeston didn’t hesitate – he drove his bus, and all the other passengers on board, straight to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.
* Customer services member of staff Anna Blunden, from Ripley, was so concerned when she heard about a lady who had hurt herself before she boarded a bus in Nottingham that she collected her on arrival at Langley Mill and took her to hospital and contacted her family. She even visited her afterwards.
* Belper bus driver Ian Findlay was at Derby bus depot when news came through about an evacuation alert at a school in his home town. He dashed straight there and helped the emergency services.
Brian King, the managing director of trentbarton, said: “These were outstanding actions by all three members of staff which were beyond the call of duty. Steve, Anna and Ian are the kind of people who are at the true heart of our company, assisting our customers, other members of the public and schoolchildren in their hour of need.” |
