| Major Roadworks Gamston - Radcliffe A52 - October to December |
| |
*STOP PRESS* All buses back to normal from this Thursday.
All of our services affected by the A52 roadworks will return to normal from 6am on Thursday 22nd November. From this time we will be able to serve all stops including Friar Lane in Nottingham City Centre.
We would like to thank all our customers for sticking with us during the disruption caused by whilst the Highways Agency carried out these roadworks.
Major roadworks on the A52 between Gamston and Radcliffe are due to run from Monday October 22nd through to early December.
This work will involve carriageway closures and will mean a major upheaval for all road users at one of the busiest times of year. Normally even the slightest snag on this section can bring things to a halt.
During the roadworks we will have to turn our Radcliffe, Bingham, the 22 and cotgrave connection buses in BROADMARSH BUS STATION instead of at FRIAR LANE. We would prefer not to do so, but the extra time will help us to maintain the timetables - and we need to be able to regulate the buses at short notice. You can transfer free of charge using rainbow 4 and rainbow 5 buses for journeys to or from Friar Lane.
The radcliffe line buses will have to take a different route into the village centre on their way to and from Nottingham. We will be using Cropwell Road during the roadworks. There will be temporary bus stops close to the village end of Cropwell Road (which is the turning opposite the Black Lion). This means that there will be NO BUSES along the old road between RSPCA and Radcliffe Old Post Office/Church. The rest of the route, and times, will not be affected.
We will continue to serve West Bridgford in both directions.
The xprss buses from Bingham will follow their normal route and timetable but will terminate at Broadmarsh.
The cotgrave connection will have to take an alternative route (in both directions) along Ambleside (but not via Morrisons) and then Cotgrave Lane– because the junction at Holme House will be closed. The route and times in Cotgrave itself, around the loop from the Manvers Arms, will be as normal.
The situation is clearly beyond our control and we understand that the work itself is urgent and essential. There are bound to be delays for everyone, particularly in the early days when not everyone will be aware of the roadworks. We will do all we can to keep to our schedule and we hope that people will think twice before using their car if they possibly can.
However, if your journey is time-critical, we strongly recommend that you allow yourself extra time. Thank you for bearing with us at this difficult time. |
