PRESS RELEASE (22 July 2008)

Buses Boost for Booming Business Park

BUS services between Ruddington and Nottingham are set to run every 15 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays as trentbarton teams up with two councils and companies on the Ruddington Fields Business Park.

The ruddington connection will cover more stops in Nottingham city centre and there will be a new direct link to the business park from Monday 28 July.

The recently refurbished buses will:

*run every 15 minutes from Ruddington to Nottingham;

*serve the village’s business park every 15 minutes at peak hours, and every half hour at off peak;

*run every half hour between Ruddington and Clifton;

*use a new route in the city centre, including stops at Fletcher Gate, Upper Parliament Street, Mount Street, and Broadmarsh Bus Station.

Brand manager Keith Wright said: “The doubling of the Monday to Saturday frequency will attract new customers to this successful service. The ruddington connection will also take a new route through the city centre opening up the Victoria Centre and Old Market Square to customers.

“The lack of parking and a direct bus from the centre of Nottingham have been holding back businesses at Ruddington Fields for some time. I’m delighted that we are working with Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council to forge a new direct link from the city centre.”

The bonus is that people who work at Ruddington Fields Business Park will for the first time be able to go direct from Nottingham. This new extension will also open up the park to people across Nottingham who will be able to switch to the ruddington connection in the city centre.
