| F1 Roars into Derby from Ripley & Alfreton |
| |
DERBY is getting a new bus service as shoppers from the north of the county shrug off the ‘credit crunch’ and head to the Westfield shopping centre and Primark.
It’s called the fast one – and has quickly been dubbed F1.
What has acted as a catalyst for trentbarton introducing the new service is the success of the direct coach service red arrow to and from Derby and Chesterfield. It’s created a demand for more buses.
So F1 will mirror the red arrow stops between Alfreton and Derby and fit in with the coaches to give a fast half-hourly frequency to Derby throughout the day in addition to the all-stops services.
The bus company has already noted growing numbers of passengers heading to the Derby shops from central Nottinghamshire.
F1’s brand manager Paul Meighan said: “Buses on the nines service from Mansfield and Sutton are showing just how popular Derby has become – firstly because of the Westfield centre and now with the attraction of the new Primark. We are confident that the new F1 brand will encourage even more trade to Derby.”
