PRESS RELEASE (10 February 2009)

The sheep bus gets a ewe look

THE Villager – dubbed ‘The Sheep Bus’ by local schoolchildren – is set for a new, more modern look. Bigger buses will make journeys more comfortable for passengers too.

The kids came up with their own nickname for the bus because the external yellow livery includes pictures of farm animals.

Several years ago the sheep were dropped, but were later brought back by popular demand. There’s even a woolly animal on the ticket machine.

The newer and bigger buses on the service between Derby and Burton will be on the route through villages like Tutbury, Rolleston, Hatton, Hilton, Etwall and Egginton from Monday 16 February.

There are two buses every hour during the day on The Villager service, while it’s one every two hours on Sundays.
