| red arrow on target with free wi-fi offer |

THOUSANDS of bus passengers are logging on to the free wi-fi link offered on an express coach service with its own following on Facebook.
They are spending an average of 24 minutes online on Red Arrow as it speeds them to and from Derby and Nottingham. That’s a little under the total journey time.
Not only that, the passengers have just voted the leather seating as the best thing they like about the eight coaches on the inter-city service.
The air-conditioned expresses remove much of the hassle of driving and parking for commuters and shoppers travelling between the two East Midlands cities.
What are they surfing? Perhaps they’re on Facebook because Red Arrow has 360 online fans.
Sarah Taylor, at trentbarton, said: “Facebook is great fun on Red Arrow, and we’re now poised to introduce it on other services. Wi-fi was another innovation and it’s clear that people are making full use of it. With one in three Red Arrow passengers choosing the coach service rather than use their car, it means they’re getting business down en route to and from Derby and Nottingham.”
Red Arrow coaches all have on-board tables for catching up on a bit of work or having a cup of coffee, and run into the evenings six days a week and into the early hours on Friday and Saturday nights. The trip between the two cities takes 40 minutes at busy times, and that comes down to half an hour in the evenings. The service also goes to Chesterfield.
