| Mango mascot gives away £5,000 in bus fares |
| |
THE drivers on trent barton buses haven’t become fruitcakes. But passengers might spot one dressed as a mango in the run-up to Christmas.
The Mango mascot will be on board rainbow 1 buses between Alfreton and Nottingham giving away 1,000 of the company’s Mango cards – and each of the smart cards will have £5 for passengers to spend on bus journeys in the festive period.
Passengers with Mango cards no longer have to fiddle with coins, and they help to speed up boarding times, leading to better timekeeping.
What’s more, Mango cards – which work with GPS technology - offer a 25% saving on single fares paid with cash.
Cardholders can apply and register online at www.trentbarton.co.uk for Mango cards.
Sarah Taylor, marketing manager at trent barton, said: “Mango is helping to bring about a revolution in bus travel. It gives us the scope to tailor our fares to suit individual customers, and the time saved on the bus platform improves our punctuality without compromising the personal service for which we are so well known.
“Everyone likes to save a little bit of money coming up to Christmas, and Mango cards offer passengers a 25% reduction in single fares. At a time when every penny counts, that can’t be bad.”
