PRESS RELEASE (07 December 2009)

New campaign puts people on the buses - literally

TRAVELLING by trent barton bus could make people really famous.

4-year-old Martin Sharpe, of Codnor, is the first to make it big in a series of larger than life advertisements on the end of the new nines buses which go from Sutton-in-Ashfield, Alfreton and Ripley into Derby.

The brand new buses bought for the nines this year heralded stylish designer interiors, leather seats and the latest low-emission technology.

And now, instead of the more usual branding designs on the full-length rear panels which are mostly viewed by car drivers, the bus company invited regular passengers to join up and get their picture displayed – telling people why they were “on the bus”.

In Martin’s case, he catches the nines from Ripley to buy toys. His bus is one of the first on the streets, and there are a further eight local people ready to follow him.
