| Red Letter Day for Top Driver Chester |
| |
LONG EATON bus driver Chester Welsh is hoping to follow in the tyre marks of his headline-hitting colleague Harry Kang.
For the 50-year-old is the latest ‘driver of the month’ at trentbarton.
And he will go on to contest the company’s 2004 ‘driver of the year’ contest, a title that Alvaston’s Harry Kang – who recently became a Red Arrow driver between Derby and Nottingham - currently holds.
Chester, who joined trentbarton only last year, was selected by mystery customers as the top driver out of almost 800. Drivers are rated on their presentation and appearance, attitude to passengers, customer care and courtesy. National judges highlighted the mystery customer initiative when selecting trentbarton as ‘UK bus company of the year’ three times since 1999.
Chester will receive a certificate and £100 from the company’s director of service delivery Jeff Counsell on Wednesday 16 June at Derby bus station.
