PRESS RELEASE (22 October 2009)

Extra buses on the nines for Christmas shopping

EXTRA buses are being put on to the route between Alfreton, Ripley and Derby as people begin their Christmas shopping in earnest.

New buses arrived on the nines service last spring in a £1.3 million investment by owners trent barton.

Now, as the festive season starts, buses will run every 15 minutes from Alfreton, Ripley into Derby with two per hour on a faster service via the A38.

Buses on the service are quite luxurious. All come with leather seats and the trentbarton designer interior, creating an environment that would normally be associated with a high street coffee shop. As standard, the buses have double-glazing and are wheelchair and buggy friendly.

MANGO smart cards, which give a 25% saving on single cash fares using GPS technology, can also be used, speeding up boarding times and leading to better timekeeping.
